2 de Janeiro:Dia da Abreugrafia

Abreugrafia é o nome dado no Brasil a um método rápido e barato de tirar pequenas chapas radiográficas dos pulmões, para facilitar o diagnóstico da tuberculose, doença mortal. O teste, que registra a imagem do tórax numa tela de raios X, espalhou-se pelo mundo.

O inventor do exame, Manuel Dias de Abreu, foi indicado ao Nobel em 1950 e teve o invento batizado em sua homenagem no Brasil. Em outros países o exame recebeu nomes como: "schermografia" (Itália), "roentgenfotografia" (Alemanha) e "fotofluorografia" (França). No Brasil, comemora-se no dia dois de janeiro (02/01) o "Dia Nacional da Abreugrafia".

Radiograph is the name given in Brazil to a rapid and inexpensive method of taking small radiographic plates of the lungs, to facilitate the diagnosis of tuberculosis, deadly disease. The test, which records the image of a chest X-ray screen, spread throughout the world.

The inventor of the examination, Manuel Dias de Abreu, was nominated for the Nobel in 1950 and had the invention named in his honor in Brazil. In other countries the examination received names such as "schermografia" (Italy), "roentgenphotography" (Germany) and "photofluorography" (France). In Brazil, it is celebrated on January 2 (02/01) the "National Day of roentgenphotography".
