24 de Janeiro:Dia do aposentado. Em 24 de janeiro, comemora-se o Dia Nacional do Aposentado. A data foi escolhida porque nesse mesmo dia, em 1923, ocorreu a assinatura da Lei Eloy Chaves, criando, na época, a caixa de aposentadorias e pensões para os empregados de todas as empresas privadas das estradas de ferro. É o marco histórico da Previdência Social, que até então atendia apenas os funcionários do governo federal. E é por isso que no Dia do Aposentado, também é comemorado o Dia da Previdência Social

January 24th:Retired Day.

Sérgio, mártir da Cesarea, na Capadócia, por muito pouco não se manteve totalmente ignorado na história do cristianismo. Nada foi escrito sobre ele nos registros gregos e bizantinos da Igreja dos primeiros tempos. Entretanto, ele passou a ter popularidade no Ocidente, graças a uma página latina, datada da época do imperador romano Diocleciano, onde se descreve todo seu martírio e o lugar onde foi sepultado.

February 24th: Day of St. Sergius.

Sergio, martyr of Caesarea in Cappadocia, for very little has not remained totally ignored in the history of Christianity. Nothing was written about him in Greek and Byzantine records of the early Church. However, he began to have popularity in the West, thanks to a Latin page, dated from the time of Roman Emperor Diocletian, which describes all their martyrdom and the place where he was buried.

O Dia Mundial da Tuberculose foi lançado, em 1982, pela Organização Mundial de Saúde (OMS) e pela União Internacional Contra Tuberculose e Doenças Pulmonares.A data foi uma homenagem aos 100 anos do anúncio do descobrimento do bacilo causador da tuberculose, ocorrida em 24 de março de 1882, pelo médico Robert Koch. Este foi um grande passo na luta pelo controle e eliminação da doença que, na época, vitimou grande parcela da população mundial e hoje persiste com 8 milhões de doentes e 3 milhões de mortes anuais.

March 24th: World Day to combat Tuberculosis.

The World TB Day was launched in 1982 by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the International Union Against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease.

The date was a tribute to the 100th anniversary of the announcement of the discovery of the cause of tuberculosis bacillus, which occurred on March 24, 1882, by the physician Robert Koch. This was a big step in the fight for the control and elimination of the disease that, at the time, killed large portion of the world's population and today continues with 8 million patients and 3 million deaths annually.
